It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luigi Otto Coppiano. Life can be unbelievably unfair sometimes, and losing someone so young is something none of us were prepared for.
Luigi brought laughter, kindness, and a light that made every room better just by him being in it. The memories he gave us and the impact he had on everyone around him will stay with us forever. He was a loyal friend to anyone who took him in and showed him love. He was truly the kind of person who would — and did — give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. This is evidenced by the immense outpouring of love and support of his friends all over the world.
We will carry his memory and spirit with us every day. Gone far too soon, but never forgotten. We are sure that you’re having a blast with your mother, grandmother, those who have departed before us and your favorite companion, Bruiser.
We are now facing the difficult task of arranging Luigi’s memorial and saying our goodbyes. The unexpected costs associated with transporting Luigi from New Orleans to Florida have been staggering. Luigi left behind an amazing legacy, but the financial burden for his father, aunt and fiancée has been difficult. We want to give Luigi the farewell he deserves, a true celebration of his life and legacy!
Any support, no matter the amount, would mean the world to us as we honor his memory and try to find comfort in the love and kindness of those around us. Thank you for keeping Luigi and our family in your thoughts during this incredibly hard time.
Rest in peace, “Chi-Chi.” Give ’em hell up there!
