We had a sudden and traumatic loss of Jill Shadek at the young age of 41 to a brain aneurysm on May 4th, 2026. This is an unimaginable heartbreak for her family, friends and the many communities she touched so deeply.

Jill is survived by her husband Mike Lucia and their two daughters—three-year-old Fiona, and Della, who was born just a few weeks ago on April 16th, 2026. Jill’s passing leaves an immense void in a greater community across the country, as well as in the lives of her husband Mike and their two young girls.

Jill was the life of the party, a true shining light in all of our lives, a mother whose unconditional love was unsurmountable. Her being and aura encouraged those around her to smile, laugh and love more. She had the quickest wit, and definitely could keep up with (and surpass) Mike’s jokes. Jill had the most effortless beauty and style. She had a deep love for music, photography, design and fashion. Jill’s gorgeous smile and soulful laugh will carry us all for eternity.

For the past five years, Jill devoted herself entirely to bringing two beautiful girls into this world. Jill’s heart is made of Fiona and Della. It felt visceral to watch Jill smile and laugh with her daughters in the most deep and endearing way. In the spirit of Jill’s zest for life, she and Mike took Fiona on many adventures and always showed her the beauty in the world and within everyone. We know Jill is with Mike, Fiona and Della, every minute of every day.

There has been an incredible outpouring of love from those wanting to support Mike and the girls during this devastating time. This fundraiser will help provide nighttime doula support to feed and nurture baby Della over the next several months (hopefully more). This will give Mike time to rest, grieve and care for his two young children, among his many other responsibilities.
