Luka Combs is only 6 months old, but he has already faced more challenges in his young life than most people do in a lifetime. From the moment he was born, Luka struggled to breathe on his own and needed a CPAP machine. He spent his first nine days in the NICU, where doctors worked tirelessly to stabilize his blood sugar and help him gain weight after losing a pound right after birth. Since then, Luka’s journey has been filled with hospital visits, tests, and therapies as his family and medical team work to give him the best possible chance at a healthy future.
Recently, Luka’s doctors discovered fluids in his brain and a mass that requires close monitoring. He goes for an MRI every two months so his care team can track any changes. If the fluid is free-flowing, he may need a shunt placed to relieve pressure. Luka has already endured three strokes, which have caused loss of motor function on the right side of his body due to dead brain cells from the mass. He is now in physical therapy at least twice a week to build strength in his neck and back, but he remains behind on developmental milestones.
Luka’s parents are doing everything they can to support him, but the costs of hospital stays, medical bills, and everyday expenses add up quickly—especially with missed work for his many appointments and the possibility of future surgeries. Your support can help ease their burden and allow them to focus on what matters most: Luka’s health and happiness. Thank you for your support—it means a lot to our family. Even if you can't donate, your prayers and sharing Luka’s story mean the world to us.
