I am currently suffering from end-stage renal failure and pulmonary disease. In just a couple of days, I will be admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery to start dialysis. Until recently, I have been working part-time as well as working at a medical camp supporting children with chronic illnesses and physical abnormalities. Because of the advanced nature of my disease, I am currently unable to work. I am preparing to receive a kidney transplant in the near future, and the journey ahead is both physically and emotionally challenging.
Alongside my health struggles, I am also in school to become a physical therapy assistant. Continuing my education is important to me, and this fundraiser will help me pay for my classes so I can keep working toward my goals, even during this difficult time. I am also currently looking for living kidney donors with O+ blood type, which would be a life-changing gift.
I am raising money to support myself through dialysis and recovery from the transplant, as well as to help cover medical expenses. The funds will help me pay for uncovered medical expenses like medications and hospital stays. They will also help with living expenses while I am undergoing dialysis and recovery from my transplant, and support my education. Your support will make a real difference in my ability to focus on healing, learning, and getting back on my feet.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to even hear my story and considering helping. It means more to me than I can express or reciprocate. If you aren’t able to make a donation—which is perfectly fine and understandable—something as simple as sharing my story would be just as big a help, and I would be forever grateful.
