I’m Samantha Bible and I wanted to start this to raise money to help with moms current bills, hospital bills, rehab facility costs, and funeral costs to be paid for to help my mom LuAnn Marie Vance who had passed on Friday morning November 14th at the age of 72 as she has these to still be taken care of as well as to lay her to rest and allow her to fully be in her better place and honored the right way she would have wanted and just even to do that has been hurdle after hurdle to go through making this all so much harder to deal with.

Mom did not have any active life insurance or anything in place such as a will for her if it would come to this point and when she did become ill she wasn’t really able to get this decided on to have her be taken care of for all these things after she would pass.

In August mom had not responded to calls or messages from myself and other family and after 3 days I had called to have a welfare check done as the 4th day she would not come to the door for her friend who was her neighbor even though her vehicle was there and she was home. Mom was found lying on the floor and was foaming at the mouth and not doing well, the ambulance had arrived and she had been admitted to the hospital where the dr had told me she had multiple strokes and was dehydrated and had a uti as well as very little mobility in her right side of her body as her strokes were on the left side of her brain.

After many tests and gradual physical therapy in her room at the hospital she had improved with her mobility and was walking with a walker and could get from sitting up at the edge of the bed to standing and slow stepping without the walker to the recliner next to her and could situate her body to sit up. She had done several swallow tests and did well with liquids but could not do solid foods and they had given her a nasal feeding tube that she kept wanting to remove and would scratch at her nose to do so so sometimes it bled. She over time could not get her jaw strength strong enough to be able to chew and be taken off the feeding tube so she had a peg tube surgery done that was into her stomach. Mom however did still continue to improve with her breathing and her physical arm and leg strength on both sides to where it was about equal and she could get discharged and go to a rehab facility. She was at the rehab facility for about 8 hrs and she then had a heart attack in the facility and was sent to the er at the hospital and then flown to another hospital to have a cardiac catheterization done and then two stents put in her heart to help with the blockage and to not cause another stroke or heart attack. She was in that hospital for about 2 1/2 wks and then was released back to the rehab facility. After a week or so she had developed pneumonia and went back to the hospital for antibiotics and when she was about two days from finishing her antibiotics they did a midline IV and she was back at the rehab facility for maybe a week and then she had her fall wound open and red and was having difficulty breathing and was in the hospital again in the ICU she had irregular heart rates up to 170-183 & the cardiologist had done a heart aversion to shock her heart to get it in a normal rhythm but it had only worked for about 30 mins and after two days of trying different medicines she did go back to a normal sinus rhythm and then was cleared to go back to the rehab facility a few days later. I had been working late that night and then early the next morning and I got a call at work that she had coded and the nurse was doing cpr to help her and when I asked they said that she wasn’t responding to it, I had got off the phone to let my work know I was going to leave and go to her which was not far away and I had told the rehab facility I was going to come there soon and maybe 5 mins later they had called me back and said that she had unfortunately not responded or regained her breathing and had passed away.

When I was 6 almost 7 my dad had passed away from melanoma skin cancer and was in hospice at our home, my entire life since then I have seen my mom the strongest in even the hardest of times, losing her siblings, my dads siblings, my dads mom and her mom more recently a few yrs ago and she has been sad but still so strong and that is something I have always admired and yet did not know how she did it. We both had the mentality of keep going , if not for us for our children! I really do not know how I can move forward without her, without both of my parents and still be my whole self but I will be, for my husband and my children. Mom was not in the military but was so proud that I was and there’s one quote from my battalion that I always think of in good times and bad and if this isn’t one of the hardest times of my life appropriate for this I don’t know what is,

“ Often tested, never bested”

Since birth, now and forever she will always be in my heart and in my thoughts through everything the rest of my life moving forward!

If you can help me at all for our mom to take care of her and honor her please do I greatly appreciate it and I hope that you make sure to have something in place for you when the unexpected may happen as loved ones are already going to be facing the hard times of mourning and grieving a loss so dear to them.
