Support for Louie's Fight Against Epilepsy

Dear Friends,

I am reaching out for my friend Tonya who has a 5-month-old named Louie. Louie has been having seizures since he was 6-weeks old. He has been hospitalized 3 times, intubated twice, has had an NG tube placed and is now currently on 5 different anti-seizure medications without improvement. He is currently admitted in the PICU at main campus. His longest hospital stay was 38 days and, in this time, he also had a lumbar puncture, CT, MRI, PET scan without a concrete diagnosis. His doctors are calling this a form of Epilepsy without a cause. Tonya reached out to Duke in NC for a second opinion in which they accepted Louie's case, however, they are unsure if they will come to a definitive diagnosis or treatment. Tonya and her husband, Tony, also have a 7-year-old named AJ. AJ is not adjusting well either and they had to enroll him in therapy due to his Mother's obligation to be at the hospital with his younger brother. Louie is also now on a specific ketogenic diet that requires a separate compound pharmacy to make for him. I am asking if you are willing to donate to help Tonya and Tony with the expenses of the treatment that Louie needs to be on. It does not have to be much, but anything helps at this point. The last I heard, the formula alone was $750/month on top of the expenses of the medications. Louie is on a new medication which does not have a generic option yet, so I can't imagine the cost. Tonya and Tony are doing their best to keep their heads afloat but if I could ask for support for my friends, this would be my chance.
