Hey everyone,

This is a very hard fundraiser to create. We have taken the last couple of weeks processing the world crashing news we received. My mother was just diagnosed with stage 4 SCLC with mets to her rib, spine, and liver. Anyone that knows my mother, knows she has strived to take care of her health. Always using natural herbs and vitamins. Always choosing food carefully. She has always passed her yearly physicals with flying colors. She got sick a few months back and what we were told would be a surgical fix has now become a fight for her life. My parents have always given what they could for who they could. I have watched them put their life on hold time and time again to help those around them. As we all know fighting cancer is expensive and she starts treatment on Wednesday. She will start with immunotherapy the first day, then two rounds of different chemos the next two days. She will have to have this done multiple times and will not be able to work. We need make sure that she is getting all the nutrients she needs to withstand the medications. Make sure they have the money to get to U of M 3 days a week. With their income being cut in half, they will need to make sure they can pay their bills so they do not have to sell the house they just paid off. My mother is the strongest person I know. I have watched her weather storms that would bring most to their knees without shedding a tear. I have watched her give strength to those around her when we had none. She is a true definition of a shield maiden, always on the front line to fight and take care of her pack. She is truly amazing! Never wavering, always strong, holds us up and together. Yet so kind and gentle. This will be the biggest battle she has ever faced. I KNOW she will rise up for this challenge and overcome. This war is knocking on her front door and I am asking everyone to rise up for her. She should be able to heal without the stress of losing everything she worked so hard for. Please help us support this warrior in this battle. Please join her on the frontline! Hold her up and support her while she conquers this. At this time we accept the diagnosis but NEVER the prognosis!!!!!!
