Lori's Story:
A few weeks ago, on her 41st birthday, Lori Mikesell was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. Lori is a loving wife and mother of five children, two of whom are ages 4 and 1.
The time commitment for chemotherapy treatments along with a health downgrade due to her weakened immune system have made it impossible for Lori to continue to work. Because their insurance only covers some of the cost, the Mikesell family will have to pay approximately $2,000 out-of-pocket for each chemo treatment over the next 6 to 9 months.
Optimism is very high from everyone that this will be beaten, yet the chemo process and surgery are still challenges that will need to be conquered. The Mikesell's moved to Chelsea, Alabama two years ago and have no extended family in the state. However, Lori is surrounded by a strong community of friends and faith.
Lori and her family truly appreciate all of your prayers and support during this difficult time.
