Hi, my name is Jessica Allen and Lori Allen is my mom. In September 2025, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. She has been receiving treatment at UT Southwestern in Dallas for the last several months, which has included four hospital stays and many complications from the cancer. The cancer drug she’s taking makes her feel very unwell, and she’s been unable to work during this time. She’s had a lot of trouble doing daily activities on her own and relies on us to help her get to and from appointments.

She underwent a medical trial that included daily cancer pills and monthly infusions. The plan was for her to take the drug and then have surgery to remove her tumor. Unfortunately, when the surgical team went in, they decided it was not safe to operate. Just last week, she was hospitalized again because her tumor was bleeding. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped, and now her doctors are planning to fight her cancer aggressively with a combination of cancer drugs, infusions, and radiation all at once.

Her employment ended on March 1st because she has been unable to return to work, and she will lose her insurance on April 1st. The COBRA premium and the cost of her cancer medication are both significant. We are left with very few options. I am hoping to raise funds for my mom to help with her house payment, utilities, groceries, and that insurance premium. I just want things to be as easy as possible for her so she can focus on fighting. We are deeply grateful for any support, encouragement, or shares of this fundraiser.
