Stephanie Marie Gonzales is my cousin and every mother’s fear is now her reality. She lost her eldest of 5 children, 20-year-old Lorenzo Sidro Morales, in a tragic accident. On Saturday, March 7th, a severe thunderstorm watch was in effect for parts of the Houston area. The rain and lightning were heavy and loud. As we all know, driving in the Houston area is a nightmare, but when you factor in the bad weather, it makes the roads a lot more challenging and even dangerous to navigate. Lorenzo was in a tragic motor vehicle accident this particular night. Police say witnesses reported he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to strike a concrete wall before hitting a tree off the freeway. He was on his way home from the Pappasitos Cantina at 2515 S Loop W, Houston, TX 77054. He worked there for 2 years and loved his job.
Lorenzo was a beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, student, and a great role model and big brother to his 4 younger siblings. In his sudden death, he left many hopes and dreams unfulfilled. He was a football player at Milby High School and was a part of the magnet health and science program, graduating with state recognition in 2024. Lorenzo aspired to be a nurse and was attending college at San Jacinto Central Campus. As his mother and family navigate this heartbreaking time, we want to help ease the financial burden.
This fundraiser has been created for those who have asked how they can help, whether through financial support, sharing this page, or keeping her family in your thoughts and prayers. All funds raised will go toward his funeral arrangements. If you are able to give, thank you. If you are unable, please consider sharing this page. Most of all, please continue to hold Lorenzo in your hearts and prayers as we honor his memory.
