On Sunday, April 19, while celebrating our 8-year-old son's birthday, I began bleeding and having contractions. We were in an unfamiliar area, far from home, and rushed to the nearest ER. I was then transported by ambulance to a downtown hospital, where I was told I needed to remain for monitoring. We hoped everything would resolve, and for a few days, things seemed to improve. But on Thursday, April 23, the bleeding intensified and contractions started again. The provider informed me that my placenta was detaching, making it risky for the baby. They had to perform an emergency C-section at just 24 weeks and 5 days gestation.
I have since been discharged, but the bills are piling up and hotel stays are getting expensive while our baby boy remains in the NICU until, most likely, his original due date in August. The stress of managing medical bills, hotel costs, and daily expenses is overwhelming, especially as we try to support our 8-year-old and focus on our newborn's recovery.
We are asking for help so we can focus on caring for our baby boy and our family during this challenging time. Your support will help cover hotel stays, food expenses, medical bills, and the supplies needed for breast pumping while our baby is in the NICU. Thank you for considering helping us through this difficult journey.
