Support for Liz James

Friends of Liz James have requested we set up a Go Fund Me account to help her (and her partner Jordan) as they navigate the need for her surgery and significant rehabilitation due to a traumatic hip fracture.

On Wednesday, June 28th, Jordan and Liz started their evening bike ride through the neighborhood. Liz suffered a bicycle accident and was transported to the ER. She suffered a traumatic hip fracture as well as an elbow fracture.

The hip surgery is called an Open Reduction/Internal Fixation. This involves "reducing" the gap between bones, and "fixing" the alignment of the bones with rods, plates and screws. The first 8 weeks will be no weight bearing, then gradually increasing weight with a recovery time of 6-12 months. In-patient, eventually at-home rehabilitation will be required as well.

Liz is a talented hairstylist and colorist working out of Boulder, Colorado. With the significant rehabilitation required, she will be unable to go back to work for at least 3-6 months.

We want to support them to cover lost wages, out-of-pocket medical expenses, and additional costs. we are hoping to support her and Jordan through this time and help her journey of healing.
