My name is Sierra Washington and I am organizing this fundraiser for my incredible mom, Liz Bradshaw.

With a heavy heart, I am reaching out to ask for your support as my mom begins the most challenging fight of her life. She has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic ductal carcinoma, which is a form of breast cancer. She has three tumors that all tested as malignant and triple negative, which makes them resistant to medications. This type of cancer is very aggressive and fast growing. They have already begun to spread which makes her case one of the most difficult types to treat so the treatment plan will be equally as aggressive.

Her doctors have confirmed her diagnosis and given her a treatment plan. She is now preparing to face a difficult journey, but she is ready to battle cancer head-on with strength, hope, and support. On July 15th, she will undergo surgery to place a port in her chest to begin IV chemotherapy. She will undergo chemotherapy for 6 months and then her medical team will reassess her condition and determine if she is ready for a double mastectomy, followed by additional chemotherapy and/or radiation depending on her response.

Despite this devastating diagnosis, my mom is choosing to fight. She is preparing to face this battle with courage, hope, and unwavering determination that she has carried her entire life. My mom is the strongest woman I know. She is kind, selfless, and always thinking of others before herself regardless of what difficulties and hardships are thrown her way.

This journey will be physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming. The cost of ongoing treatments, surgeries, and follow-up care will add up quickly. Any donations made will contribute to her medical and personal financial obligations during this time to ease any financial burden so she can focus on healing. Your generosity means more than words can express and she is extremely thankful for everyone that takes the time to read her story.
