I was fired from my job in mid-September and lost health care benefits. I knew I was sick and needed to get checked out but tried it my own way, like an old tomcat crawling into a hole. Was driving for DoorDash but after the hospital stay I am no longer employable.

Surrendered and went into the hospital for a week and a half. First batch of chemo complete. Diagnosis is stage 4 small-cell lung cancer. The cancer appears to have spread to other organs, and more scans and chemo are going to be needed to focus on the brain issues.

My goal for this GoFundMe is to allow me to continue to live in my apartment for as long as possible, rather than go to assisted living. I can't make rent or bills for next month. To be honest, any one of these upcoming screenings and scans may show that hospice is the better solution at any time. This is an attempt to kick the can down the road and buy some time while my new living situation becomes clearer because everything is up in the air right now.
