Lisa Barton, my neighbor and friend, has always been the kind of person who looks out for others. When my family moved to this community, she was the first to welcome us, always stopping to chat when she walked her beloved dog, Otis. Her kindness and warmth made us feel at home right away. Many people in our town know Lisa from her years of working at Safeway, where she has always greeted customers with a smile and a helping hand.

Recently, Lisa has been experiencing serious medical problems that have made it impossible for her to work. As a result, she has started to fall behind on her bills and is struggling to keep up with rent and daily expenses. Throughout her life, Lisa has always been fiercely independent, never asking for help and always finding ways to support herself and others. Now, she finds herself in a position she never expected—needing help from her community.
