Support for Lindsay Sharp.

Lindsay Sharp, a loving mother and dedicated Registered Nurse in our community, was diagnosed with Mucinous Ovarian Cancer in March 2024 that the doctors thought they had gotten it all via surgery. Sadly in October 2024 it was discovered to have come back and spread to her stomach, lymph nodes, and a few spots on lungs. A lymph node got wrapped around a ureter connecting to one kidney causing the need for stent placement. Lindsay is scheduled for surgery 4/17/2025 at Mayo Clinic. They will be debunking areas in her stomach, removing lymph nodes, and while they are debunking they will leave her open, place chemo and let sit for two hours before closing her up. This will be an all day surgery. Lindsay is traveling back and forth from her treatments and surgeries at Mayo Clinic because she must keep working full-time in order to keep her health insurance, pay medical bills, and support family.
Lindsay has been working in healthcare for over 20 years. She started working at Knox County Nursing home when she was 16 and has never left. She earned her CNA when she was a junior in high school, and she began working in the field upon receiving CNA certificate at Knox County. Then, Lindsay completed her RN degree at Sandburg, and she found her calling in long-term geriatric care. Lindsay is an incredibly compassionate individual, and she has dedicated her professional life to providing quality care to elderly individuals in our community.
Lindsay has had multiple surgeries already and has been receiving chemotherapy since December of 2024. After a chemo session, she is in constant pain, feeling fatigue and weakness but is still working to take care of others. She is an inspiration and deserves to be shown the compassion that she displays to others, so she can rest and take care of herself.
Donations will directly support Lindsay’s health care needs and expenses.
I am also working with Tracey Sharp, Lindsay’s mom, to set up a bank account that individuals can donate directly to in order to ease the added financial stress Lindsay has been experiencing during these challenging times.
