Support for Lincoln Tornado Victims' Family
Donation protected
Most of you know who I am if you are reading this. A few days ago, a tornado touched down in Lincoln and uprooted three huge trees on River Rd. All three trees struck my sister and brother-in-law's house, causing extensive damage. My niece and nephew were in their bedrooms at this time. It was around 11:30 pm. The trees went through the roof, nearly killing both of them. My nephew had to be pulled out from the rubble (wooden boards, insulation, and hanging wires). My niece had her entire window with frame blown into her room. Both are very lucky to be alive. My nephew sustained abrasions to his head. Thank God they are all okay physically. They left their home with just the clothes on their backs.
The Red Cross responded and assisted them initially. The house was condemned and they were told not to enter it because it was structurally unsafe. Two days after the tornado, the trees were removed from the house. The house has large openings in the roof and the openings won't be covered until Tuesday next week, which means there will be more damage to the contents of the house (the kids' clothes and electronics, etc.) with the rain coming today.
I am starting this GoFundMe to assist the family with clothing and other essentials they might need to be comfortable while living in a hotel with only a few of their belongings. I am not asking for donations to fix the house because that is insured (for those of you that are cynical and negative).
Thank you in advance for your help! xoxoxoxo
