I met Lilly on my first date with her doggie daddy, Dave Moore, back in 2010. She was six weeks old and it was love at first sight...for all of us. We became a little family and she was our love child from day one.

Since then she has been an absolute joy, travelling with us everywhere we went, snuggling with us at home, kissing on all her favorite surfer boys and running on the beaches of Southern California for over 14 years now.

She became a regular fixture with us up in Malibu and is so loved by so many. I'd say she is a local celebrity up there for sure.

Now for the hard part...

As she entered her 14th year we have been noticing some definite cognitive decline and weakness in her back legs but she was still functioning pretty well until recently we began noticing some issues with frequent urination and "drips" from her lady parts.

We took her to the vet for allllll the tests and found out she had an infection in the area where she was spayed as a puppy. They left part of her uterus which is now infected so we have done 2 rounds of antibiotics so far and just got her third and final round started yesterday. We are combining that with gentle pain meds, Chinese herbs and natural supplements to see if she can fight this infection off and improve her quality of life from what's she's got going on right now.

Sadly, with her age and the weakness in her back legs we know it's only a matter of time either way so we are beginning to prepare for that final "trip to the vet" and will eventually plan a paddle out ceremony at the beach to celebrate her life as a big part of our surfing community in Malibu.

After the already difficult time we've had with covering vet bills up to this point it's time to buck up and ask for a little help from our friends. We will need some funding to help us catch up on the bills we already paid and hopefully cover this final chapter in style, so we would sincerely appreciate even the smallest donation from anyone who has been touched by her loving presence or just wants to help me and Dave manage this difficult time.

It's so hard to believe this time has come and even harder to admit we need some help but I know we are gonna do the right thing at the right time for her, somehow, some way, and most definitely with our friends & family holding our hands along the way.
