Dear Friends

As I celebrated my seven six birthday in July I decided it was time to step back. Starting in the beginning of 2025 I will take a much need sabbatical after being on the front lines for over fifty five years. I want to connect with my family, write a book for my children and travel to West African. I will take time to remember, reflect, rejuvenate and return.

I feel I have more to offer we need seasoned organizers to be a bridge between yesterday and today to work with the brilliant organizers of this generation. If I have supported your efforts, or been with you on a picket lines, or if you support the movement for racial and social justice, worker and human rights, then I'm asking you to Contribute today to the Baba Akili sabbatical fund, help me reach my goal.

I want to be around to continue to be in the struggle for justice, equity and transformative change.
