Support for Life-Changing Surgery

I'm grateful for everyone's generous donations so far. However, I need your help in sharing my GoFundMe campaign. The battle against leukemia has been financially draining, and I've already spent a considerable amount supporting myself while dealing with nerve damage, allowing me to continue working. I initially planned to cover half of the costs by leveraging $15k on credit. The $15k I'm aiming to raise through this campaign is to cover the other half. Since March 2023, I've been enduring almost daily crippling pain due to nerve damage resulting from an outpatient surgery I underwent in February 2023. On a pain scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the worst, I typically experience a pain level of 2 to 3 on most days. However, every 5 to 7 days, the pain becomes much more severe, reaching levels of 6 to 7, and this intense pain can last for 2 to 3 days at a time.

Despite these challenges, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. I have discovered a Urological Surgeon based in Orlando, Florida, who specializes in treating this specific type of nerve damage. The procedure he performs is called "Spermatic Cord Denervation and Cremaster Laparoscopy." This surgery offers the potential to significantly alleviate my pain and improve my quality of life. The procedure is scheduled for July 9, 2024.

However, there is a significant downside: the procedure is not covered by insurance. This means that all the associated costs, including the surgery itself, travel expenses, accommodation, and hiring a home nurse to assist me during my stay, must be paid out of pocket. The financial burden is substantial, as it involves not just the medical expenses but also the logistical costs of traveling to Orlando, staying in a hotel, and ensuring I have the necessary care and support during the procedure and recovery period.

This situation presents a considerable financial challenge, adding to the stress and difficulty of managing my condition. Nonetheless, I remain hopeful that this specialized surgery will provide the relief I desperately need and allow me to regain a sense of normalcy in my life.
