Over the weekend, the Gonzalez family suffered the unimaginable loss of their beloved husband and father, Rich. After being with Rich for 18 years, Libby is now left on her own to care for their three young boys—Airo (8), Graylan (11), and Render (13)—and Rich's adult son, Quin, who will be graduating from college in San Diego in two months. Quin was an adored child of Rich, stepson to Libby, and a caring brother to Render, Graylan, and Airo. Rich started out coaching Quin’s soccer team over 16 years ago and remained deeply involved in all of his children’s lives. Rich was not only a devoted father but also the heart of the household, handling childcare, transportation, and coaching the boys’ sports teams. Their energetic dog, Boudreaux, was always by his side.

Libby’s immediate family is out of state, and while they are here to help during this period of bereavement, they will soon return home. The ongoing challenges Libby faces include funeral expenses, summer camps, afterschool childcare, sports programs, dog care, and housekeeping. With Libby working more than 40 hours a week year-round, and the boys’ afterschool and summer programs not being free, the need for support is significant.
