Support for Liam’s Hospital Recovery

Liam is 4 years old and unfortunately suffers from a rare terminal neuro/metabolic disease called Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex deficiency (PDCD). Right now, our family is facing one of the hardest challenges of our lives. Recently, Liam suffered his second metabolic stroke and has been in the hospital. My fiancé and I are doing everything we can to stay by his side and support him, but this means we are unable to work at the moment, and I’m also in nursing school and trying my best to maintain that. Our focus is on making sure Liam has everything he needs while he is in the hospital, and being there for him every step of the way. He also will need inpatient rehab due to the stroke, so after discharge from the hospital that will add 2-3+ weeks of us being out of work.

The costs are adding up quickly—between bills, travel to and from the hospital, daily food, toiletries, and all the little things that come up during a hospital stay. We want to make sure Liam is as comfortable as possible and that we can continue to be there for him without worrying about how we’ll cover these expenses.

We are reaching out to our community for support during this incredibly difficult time. Any help you can offer, no matter how small, will make a huge difference for Liam and our family. We appreciate anyone who is willing to help us out, and your kindness means more to us than words can say.
