My name is Naiyah, and I am a single mother doing everything I can to support my 5-year-old son, Liam. Liam has been struggling with extreme eczema and psoriasis since he was very young. His condition affects every part of his daily life, from attending kindergarten to simply feeling comfortable in his own skin. As his primary caregiver, I am with him for every doctor’s visit, every flare-up, and every moment he needs care. Unfortunately, his condition is unpredictable, and the frequent medical appointments make it impossible for me to work outside the home.

I have tried to get support through SSI and other programs, but we have been denied. I even looked into becoming a paid caregiver through PCP, but as his mother, I am not eligible. Finding someone I trust with an open schedule to watch Liam is nearly impossible, especially since he needs constant monitoring to prevent his flares from getting worse. I want to hire a certified babysitter who understands his medical needs, but the cost is more than I can manage on my own. On top of that, Liam’s doctors are working hard to help him, but so far, nothing has truly improved his condition. We have also been denied coverage for the special lotions and soaps he needs.

I am hoping to raise funds to try new treatments like red light therapy, provide counseling to help Liam with his confidence and anxiety, and cover the cost of a certified babysitter.
