At the end of April, my son Levi was diagnosed with myocarditis and necrotizing pneumonia. When we arrived at the hospital he needed two minutes of CPR, was in respiratory failure and cardiogenic shock. He went on to spend a week on life support and then spent nearly a month in the hospital. He miraculously survived, but I haven’t been able to work since April 25th so I can care for him and my daughter Hailey. Recently, Levi was also diagnosed with Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, which means he now faces even more therapy as well as follow-up appointments with cardiology, hematology, and neurology specialists. As a single mother, I am doing everything I can to keep our lives stable, but my savings are running out. I don’t know when I’ll be able to return to work, and right now it looks like it could be September at best. But with the new diagnosis I fear he might be in a leg brace or cast by then which would force me to stay home with him even longer. Perhaps even several months or a year.
Levi has shown incredible strength and faith in Jesus throughout all of this. He never complains about pain and just keeps pushing through. His resilience and faith are the reasons we’ve made it this far, and I want to be by his side every step of the way as he recovers.
Any help you can give will make a real difference for our family, allowing me to care for my children, and ensure Levi gets the treatment he needs. Thank you for reading our story and for any support you can offer.
