I am posting this GoFundMe for my friend, who is an amazing mother and is in need of a little assistance. Here are words from her:
In January 2024, my son Levi was life flighted to the children’s hospital in St. Louis after experiencing unimaginable trauma and torture at the hands of his father and his father’s fiancé. When he arrived, Levi had 12 brain bleeds, a spinal compression fracture, and weighed only 33 pounds at 9 and a half years old. He was immediately placed in a medical coma to save his life. After a year and a half of fighting for their safety, in June 2025, Levi and his two brothers were finally placed back home with me.
Recently, we learned that an MRI showed continued cerebral and cerebellar volume loss, and the part of Levi’s brain that connects both sides was so damaged it became necrotic and liquified. I’ve been advised to get him on social security disability for the long term. Levi now has to see a pediatric neurologist, but our closest options are in St. Louis or Springfield, and our current vehicle isn’t reliable enough to make the trip. After two years, there is still little to no progress on criminal charges. I am continuing to fight this case and am actively seeking legal representation to support Levi. As a single mother of six, getting out of a domestic violence situation with no childcare or reliable transportation, meeting the financial requirements for additional legal assistance has been extremely challenging.
Despite these obstacles, I remain committed to continuing this fight and securing the support my children need. This will be a lifelong battle for my kids, and I will do whatever it takes to ensure justice is served for these sweet boys who never deserved to go through any of the pain they have at such a young age. Any support you can offer will help us continue this journey and provide the care and justice my children deserve. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with us.
