Early this morning, around 1:00 a.m., our family experienced a devastating loss. Kay and Les Deane's home was destroyed by a fire. We are incredibly grateful to say that they are all safe, but their home is a total loss. Kay and Les also care for and provide a home for their two grandsons, Jordan (16) and Hunter (18).
Due to freezing temperatures, firefighters faced significant challenges, taking approximately 45 minutes to gain access to water as the fire hydrant was frozen. During that time, the family watched helplessly as their home burned.
They are currently staying at a hotel and beginning the overwhelming process of figuring out next steps. Right now, the most helpful support is gift cards or financial assistance so they can replace essentials as needed.
We are coordinating support to make this as easy on them as possible. If you’d like to help, please donate or reach out to Whitney Deane, Taylor Henry or Syreeta Savage, their daughters, who are serving as point people during this time.
Please keep Kay, Les, Hunter, and Jordan in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the days ahead. Thank you for the love, kindness, and support.
In addition, we are also accepting donations via Cashapp: $PootieLala
