Leo, the youngest of six children, is a bright light in his family’s life. His mother, Angel, has been my close friend for 20 years, and I’ve always admired her kindness, strength, and willingness to help others. She’s the kind of person who would do anything for someone in need, and now her family is facing a challenge no parent should have to endure.

Leo is currently facing a serious medical crisis. On the morning of March 13, 2026, at 7:30am, he is scheduled for brain surgery after doctors discovered a tumor that is blocking the flow of fluid in his brain. The pressure has built up over time, causing symptoms that no child should have to experience. This surgery is necessary to relieve the pressure and give Leo the best chance at recovery, but the journey ahead is still uncertain. The tumor will be biopsied, and depending on the results, Leo may need further treatment like chemotherapy or radiation. Through it all, Angel and her family have shown incredible faith and resilience, but the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming.

Right now, Leo’s family is facing mounting travel expenses, household bills, groceries, and the urgent need for a place to stay while they wait for a room at the Ronald McDonald House.
