My father is a immigrant from Juchipila Zacatecas Mexico. He came to the United States when he was 11 and immediately started working and helping his dad. He became a US citizen in 2000. He ran a very successful sewing manufacturing business in the 80's and 90's and was very proud of his accomplishments. Unfortunately due to the recession in the early 2000's my dad lost his business. This was a huge hit for our family and sadly ended in the divorce of my parents. After my parents divorce my dad started a 15 year career working for Domino's Pizza. He was very proud of his job and was a great employee.
One day when he was at lunch he felt very sick, and blamed his spontaneous illness on undercooked food. Days like this became more frequent until he was vomiting every day for 3 weeks straight. On July 2nd he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and was admitted for a long 11 day stay. He kept his illness from all of us. During his stay he was told that he had liver cancer and nothing more could be done.
We were determined to get a second opinion.
Unfortunately the second opinion was not better then the first. He was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer and it spread to other areas of his body. He has been given 3-6 months to live.
As you can imagine this has caused a strain on our family emotionally but also financially. We have been blessed with amazing friends and family who have helped us Now with this diagnosis my sisters who live out of state would like to stay longer and be by my dad's side. I also need them here to help me tend to our sick father.
Since my dad wasn't given the option of any medical treatment because the cancer is has spread, we are at the mercy of prayer and natural remedies. We aren't going to give up and we will fight this all the way. With that being said natural remedies aren't covered by insurance and neither is the special diet my dad needs so we will need to pay out of pocket from this point forward.
We are so grateful for all the help we have received and will continue to fight for our dad and to be by his side as long as we can.
