Support For Leo As He Fights Like a Lion
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,
By now we know that many of you have heard, but for those that have not we wanted to share with you the sobering news we received this past weekend. Our 5-year-old nephew Leo was recently diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL) and as you can imagine this really shook our entire family. Fortunately, what we have found out since his diagnosis is that B-ALL is considered the most common type of leukemia with a well-documented treatment protocol. In addition, he is currently being cared for by the wonderful Oncology team at Boston Children’s hospital. So, as we all look to find the positive in this difficult situation, we are very grateful that Leo’s condition is treatable.
However, both Leo and his family will be in for a long battle. Leo is currently inpatient at Boston Children’s Hospital where he will need to stay for the next month. After that he will need a couple of years of ongoing cancer treatments in order to complete his treatment cycle. This long haul will not be easy and almost every aspect of their family’s life will be impacted. During this time, they will need to develop their new norm for everything from work, school, social activities and youth sports. It is also during this time that they will need a strong support system, which I know many of you will be involved in.
Leo is a fun-loving, curious kid with a spunky personality and a love for all things boy! He loves big construction trucks, fire trucks, police cars and dinosaurs! For a little man he has a big heart, is kind, full of innocence, and has a love for everyone, especially his big sister Everly and his cousins.
Since Leo’s diagnosis the support that Jay, Lyn and the family have received is incredible. Every day many of you are reaching out to us asking how you can help. While there is no expectation from the family regarding a fundraising target Chris and I have decided to create this Go Fund Me page to give people a means to contribute if they would like to. For those that want to make a donation, it is so greatly appreciated, but most certainly not expected.
Another great way to support Leo, especially during this holiday season, is you can send him cards & letters to:
