Lenny Reynoso Parahoy was the baby of our family, born in 1999, and only 26 years old. He was incredibly smart, very funny, and deeply politically aware. Lenny loved his Dominican culture and being a New Yorker. He was passionate about politics since high school, and he brought that same passion to everything he did—traveling, video games, fashion, the arts, and music. He adored his mom, dad, family, friends, and his cat Jupiter. Lenny’s warmth and humor touched everyone who knew him, and his loss leaves an excruciatingly massive hole in our hearts.

We are raising funds to cover the wake and funeral expenses for Lenny, who passed away unexpectedly. These costs can be overwhelming, and we also hope to provide therapy and financial support for his mother, my Tia Ingrid, as she faces this unimaginable loss. Lenny was her only child, and she will be out of work for an unspecified amount of time as she navigates this new reality. But unfortunately monthly bills do not stop and the last thing my Tia needs right now is for them to accumulate. Your support will help ease some of the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time.

Lenny Reynoso Parahoy era el bebé de nuestra familia. Nació en 1999 y tenía apenas 26 años. Era increíblemente inteligente, muy chistoso y bien consciente de la política. Lenny amaba su cultura dominicana y el orgullo de ser neoyorquino. Desde la escuela superior sentía una gran pasión por la política, y llevaba esa misma pasión a todo lo que hacía: viajar, los videojuegos, la moda, el arte y la música. Adoraba a su mamá, a su papá, a su familia, a sus amistades y a su gato, Jupiter. La ternura y el humor de Lenny tocaron a todas las personas que lo conocieron, y su partida deja un vacío inmenso y doloroso en nuestros corazones.

Estamos recaudando fondos para cubrir los gastos del velorio y el entierro de Lenny, quien falleció de manera inesperada. Estos gastos pueden ser abrumadores, y también queremos poder ofrecer terapia y apoyo económico a su madre, mi tía Ingrid, mientras enfrenta esta pérdida tan inimaginable. Lenny era hijo único, y ella estará fuera del trabajo por un tiempo indefinido mientras trata de adaptarse a esta nueva realidad.
