On Friday, 9th May, Lejla and her family received news that changed everything: she was diagnosed with brain cancer. The initial diagnosis was oligodendroglioma, a rare and challenging form of the disease. 

Within days, Lejla faced one of the biggest battles of her life. She underwent emergency, life-saving brain surgery just eight days after her diagnosis. With her usual courage, she fought through recovery at home, surrounded by her family’s love, while they waited for the results that would determine what came next. 

But two weeks later, the family’s worst fears were confirmed. The tumour was not what doctors first believed. Lejla’s cancer is stage 4 astrocytoma, an aggressive and devastating diagnosis that no one could have imagined for someone so young, so healthy, so full of life. 

 Since that day, Lejla has faced every challenge with incredible strength. She is currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy, determined to fight for her future. Clemens has been by her side every step of the way — holding the family together, caring for their boys, and helping Lejla through the hardest days. 

This journey has brought unimaginable emotional and physical challenges — but also a heavy financial burden. Between therapy costs, transport to and from treatment, and the everyday demands of family life, the weight on the Ganz family’s shoulders is enormous.
