Support for Lebanon: Beqaa Aid Project

Hello, my name is Iman El Masri (Imiie), and I'm half-Lebanese.

I was recently in Lebanon, visiting my family after two years apart, but I had to leave urgently. The crisis has reached unimaginable levels, and I feel deeply moved to help provide direct aid to displaced Lebanese families in Beqaa. That’s why I created this fundraiser with a goal of raising $10,000+ (~£7500).

As all Lebanese living abroad can relate, being far away, we may be safe physically, but our hearts are still in Lebanon and shattered into a million pieces.

Over the past year, alongside the continued genocide in our beloved Palestine, the Lebanese people have faced unimaginable hardships and ongoing attacks. Truly, there are no words left to describe the horrendous atrocities that continue to be committed and unaccounted for.

In just three days last week, more than 1,250 people were killed in brutal attacks—surpassing the total death toll of the 33-day war in 2006. Today, we’re looking at over 2000 lives lost, more than 30,000 missing, and 1 million displaced.

Thousands of families, including my own, have been forced to leave their homes with no idea of when or if they can ever return. Many have already lost everything.

Lebanon has endured relentless challenges over the years - from the revolution that started in 2018, to the economic collapse of the Lebanese Lira, what used to be a pegged exchange rate of $1 = 1,500 l.l is now $1 = 90,000 l.l. and the catastrophic explosion on August 4, 2020. Now, our homeland is under attack once again and the people are suffering.

**Here's How Your Donation Helps:**

The funds will be used in the Beqaa region to help provide shelter, food, mattresses, blankets, warm clothing, hygiene products, baby food and diapers to displaced families. Families are sleeping on the streets, in cars, even on mattresses in car parks. It’s truly heartbreaking. These people have nowhere else to turn.

**Trust and Transparency:**

I will transfer the funds to my relatives who are on the ground in the Beqaa Valley. They were my right-hand support in the successful 2021 fundraiser I set up for food parcels—a project you can view on my Instagram highlights under 'Food Aid ' and ‘Food Parcels ’. What started as a goal of £750, almost quadrupled into £2762!! With the incredible generosity of everyone who donated, we ended up feeding 63 families for over a month!

This fundraiser operates on a 100% donation policy. While this platform does take its fees, I will cover all overseas transfer fees and any transport costs incurred by my family in delivering the aid. I am fully committed to transparency and will share detailed expense reports, photos and videos of the impact we create together. I will also share the project on my social media.

No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe.

**The Mission:**

This crisis goes beyond politics, economics, or leadership—it’s a consciousness issue. Until we raise our awareness and rise above the destructive patterns that cause separation and conflict, we’ll continue to see suffering, violence, and chaos in the world.

True and lasting change starts within.

While providing immediate relief is vital, the real transformation happens when we raise our consciousness. It’s how we create a world filled with more peace, unity, and compassion.

My mission goes beyond giving back. It’s about inspiring a shift in human consciousness, creating ripples of change that can impact the world far beyond today—one person at a time.
