After bravely battling Leukemia for the last 3.5 years Leanna Lawson passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026 at the age of 15.
First diagnosed at age 11 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), her chemotherapy treatment lasted a grueling 2.5 years. She rang the bell when she was cancer free in December of 2024.
Unfortunately no less than a month later she was diagnosed with therapy-induced Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a much rarer and aggressive form of cancer brought on by the chemotherapy treatment from her initial cancer (ALL).
The family exhausted every avenue possible to find her a cure - receiving treatment at Johns Hopkins, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Leanna was an incredible fighter; full of life and love. She left an indelible mark on everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
- While the road to healing will be long, we'd love to ease the family's burdens by being able to offset the remaining hospital bills and to provide more than 2 weeks of bereavement leave from Tabitha's work at the USG, as all annual leave/sick leave has been exhausted and donated leave can not be used for bereavement.
If you are able and feel so inclined, the family would appreciate any and all donations.
