Hello Everyone,

The purpose of this fundraiser is to support our friend LeAnn White, who has truly lived a horse owner’s worst nightmare these last few weeks. This winter she purchased her new equine partner, Noche. Noche was a big, goofy, gorgeous young thoroughbred gelding that just had the “it” factor. This kid had “heart horse” written all over him. He was talented, he was gentle, he was a puppy dog, and he had an incredibly bright future. LeAnn only had him in her life for a short amount of time but she loved him very much.

Tragically, Noche developed a severe case of shipping fever when hauling home a few weeks ago. He received immediate vet attention, first with treatment at home and then progressing to hospitalization at the vet clinic. However, despite extensive efforts over the following weeks, the pleuropneumonia & lung damage were too much to overcome. LeAnn had no choice but to end his suffering and say goodbye to Noche on April 30th.

I think that all horse lovers know exactly how deep this type of grief runs and that no amount of money can bring Noche back. And anyone who knows LeAnn is well aware that she is the last person in the world who would ever ask for any sort of handout. However, our hope is to ease just a bit of her pain by alleviating the financial stress of this tragedy, as the vet expenses are significant. We are also hopeful that we might be able to raise additional funds that can go towards the purchase of her next partner, whenever the time is right.
