I’m starting this fundraiser for my friend and coworker Leah and her family. Recently, Leah’s husband Matt became legally blind in both eyes as of April, after already facing multiple health issues related to diabetes. Their family has been through so much, and now Matt needs full-time care. Leah and Matt have five children, two of whom have special needs, and the challenges they’re facing have only grown.

Matt is currently trying to get on disability, but as many know, that process can be lengthy and uncertain. In the meantime, Leah is doing everything she can to support her family financially, but it’s still not enough. They are struggling to cover daily living expenses, transportation costs for frequent medical appointments in Temple, and the mounting medical bills that come with Matt’s care. Providing for their children, especially with two who have special needs, adds to the pressure.
