About 7 years ago someone gave me some of the best advice I’ve ever received. They said “When someone you care about is going through a rough time, don’t ask how you can help them, just help them!” Not that asking how or offering to help is a bad thing! However, in tough and scary times people are often so emotionally overwhelmed that they don’t even know what they need, much less be able to ask for it. I have found this to be true, which is what brings me to create this GoFundMe. Someone I care about is going through a really tough time.

Laurie is a beautiful soul whose empathy and generosity toward both animals and people astonishes me! I know that Laurie has had a tremendous impact on so many in the rescue community, so I wanted to reach out to her tribe for some assistance.

Unfortunately, Laurie is facing ovarian cancer. Since Laurie is a fierce, independent, badass woman, asking for help doesn’t come naturally. It’s always the helpers who never ask for help! Therefore, I am asking for her friends and foster community to come together for her. Cancer takes such a physical, mental, financial, and spiritual toll on a person and their family. Laurie could use our prayers and I’ve set up this medical fundraiser to try and help ease the financial burden of cancer. She is having surgery this Week at which time she will have to pay $4,000 for the surgery. There will be additional medical bills to follow but I want to help this amazing person with this surgery bill!

Anyone who knows Laurie knows she isn’t one to ask for anything. However I’ve seen such an outpouring of support for this beautiful lady that I insisted that I set something up for those who wish to support her. Rescue community, let’s come together for one our own. ❤️
