Support for Laurel’s Shoulder Replacement

Donation protected
Update: 11/19/23
I am so blessed to be surrounded by so much love! Thank you to everyone who has donated, called, texted, and offered so much support.
Thanks to all of you I was able to get my parents, my care providers for this replacement, a comfortable place to stay for a few days in Aspen while I was in the hospital, and then overnight in Glenwood after I was released. I was also able to get ahold of my finances so I am not drowning in so much debt. The stress of both of those things was very heavy and I did not realize how much it was effecting me until I started to be released from the burden.

I had my shoulder replacement November 16. It was a very long and challenging surgery. I am still struggling with low blood oxygen levels and I am on oxygen for the foreseeable future. I am starting PT Monday with the amazing Phil Rambo in Durango, and will be in Durango until December 31, then I will return to Aspen to continue my recovery and treatment for the neck and spine injuries. This surgery was a major step on my recovery and journey back to being fully functional and on the road to medical improvement, and I am grateful to my medical providers for all the hard work this challenging injury has presented.
I am grateful to all of you for your continued support as I navigated this stressful rehabilitation. I am not sure I can ever express exactly how much your support and love has meant to me!❤️

Hi, my name is Laurel Gladden. I am a Ski Pro who on February 20, 2022, suffered a devastating accident to my shoulder, neck, and spine while teaching.
Twenty months post accident, two surgeries, and a multitude of procedures later, I am scheduled for a full shoulder replacement next month and still attempting to figure out what is wrong with my spine.
Unfortunately, the accident has caused chronic pain and muscle spasms which has made life very difficult.
I was limited work released for a few weeks this summer, but the bills have piled up. Workmans comp disability is not supplementing enough, and what I am allowed to work is very limited.
I have exhausted my savings, and my battle with Workmans comp has left me nearing the scariest financial cliff of my adult life!
I am horrible at asking for help. But at this point I am trying to figure out how to afford lodging for my caregivers to be in Aspen to help me after the surgery and I need to get a handle on my credit cards who have taken the brunt of the last 20 months of finances.
I continue to be reminded that I am not alone, and asking for help does not make me weak. I know every one of us has our own struggles, so I appreciate any help anyone might be able to gift.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thank you, you have have no idea how grateful I am for any help.
