My name is Laurel, and I am reaching out for support after the unimaginable loss of my 12-year-old daughter, Rily. She was the heart of our family—sweet, funny, and always ready to help anyone in need. Rily loved cats, enjoyed being home with her family, and was passionate about martial arts. She served on student council, excelled in school, and was always the one to stand up for her loved ones, especially her big sister Emily. Her heart of gold touched everyone she met.
Rily also loved to draw and had a special bond with her dad, Fred, who was her best friend and played a huge role in her life alongside her sister Emily, her mom, and, of course, her beloved cats. She was always bossing her dad around and filling our home with laughter. Rily will be met at the gates of heaven by our dogs—Treasure, Willow, Poppy, and Zoey—who will be waiting for her with open paws.
Rily leaves behind her mom, dad, and big sister in Springfield, as well as family in Florida, California, and many friends throughout Massachusetts. Her love, humor, and kindness will be truly missed and never forgotten. Losing her has left our family devastated, and we are struggling to cope with the emotional and financial challenges that come with such a loss.
I am currently unable to work as I grieve and care for my family. The expenses for Rily’s funeral, along with our regular bills and basic needs, have become overwhelming. Any help during this difficult time would mean so much to me. I never thought this would be something I would have to do. I never thought I would have to bury my baby, but I would definitely appreciate any help I can get because I'm truly overwhelmed. Thank you for your kindness and support.
