On Saturday, April 4, 2026, after spending a wonderful afternoon with family for an Easter lunch, our mom, Lauie (Laura), went into cardiac arrest at home. EMS was called, and she was taken to the hospital where she has been in the ICU since.

On Monday, after testing, we were informed she has an anoxic brain injury and recovery will not be possible. At this time, we will be making the decision to remove her care and let her decide when to make her way home.

With that, we are left trying to navigate the process after. Laura's dream was to have her body donated to science and had arrangements made. However, due to restrictions on their programs, she no longer qualifies. As a family, we want to be able to place her next to her husband where she also has a space. However, she had no other arrangements or funds set aside for her funeral and burial.

We appreciate any and all help as we walk this difficult path and try to honor her final wishes. Once we have more details on funeral/celebration of life arrangements, we will update.
