Hi, my name is Laura Davidson. On Friday, May 9th, my dad was involved in an accident at home that engulfed him in flames, leaving him with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his face, arm, and stomach.

My dad is 80 years old, diabetic, has severe COPD, and is in need of a pacemaker. Yesterday, he was admitted to the burn unit at the University of Iowa Hospital and is scheduled for surgery on Friday.

My mom and dad are both on social security and did work part-time, but due to the unspeakable happening, my dad is no longer able to work, and my mom is also off work as she is tending to him. Their insurance does not cover much of their medical bills, and they are having to purchase all medical supplies, pay for gas to go back and forth to Iowa City, and cover their monthly bills.

This is going to be very costly for my parents, and I'm asking that if anyone could please help them out during this horrific time, it would be so greatly appreciated!
