On December 28th, our world changed when my husband Larry was diagnosed with a highly treatable throat cancer. The whirlwind of tests and appointments revealed that the cancer is affecting his tonsil, tongue, and lymph nodes on the left side of his throat. We are grateful that the PET scan showed the cancer is contained to that area, and Larry will begin chemo and radiation treatment on February 16th, continuing for six weeks.
This journey has been overwhelming for our family. As Larry prepares for treatment, we are doing our best to support him and help our kids and grandchildren process what is happening. The uncertainty and emotional toll are difficult, especially for the little ones who don’t fully understand what Pepop is going through. As his caregiver, I am doing everything I can to keep our family strong and hopeful.
We are asking for prayer and encouragement from our friends, family, and community. The funds raised will help us cover medical bills and lost wages (we do not have short or long term disability) while Larry is out of work during treatment. Thank you for loving and supporting us during this time. Your kindness means more than words can express.
