JANUARY 23rd 2021:
For future transparency, I am updating this page without deleting the prior bio/history. My cousin Jenn and I have decided to transfer management/responsibility of this page from her to myself (Alyssia - Larry's daughter). We also as a family decided to increase this goal. We are beyond grateful for everything that was already donated. Please don't feel the need to donate again. We'd just be grateful for everyone who could share this page with their network.
If you've been following along in the journey (or if you haven't), the up-to-date-bio would indicate that my father officially BEAT Covid-19 and is clear of the actual illness however he continues to struggle with the impacts of it. I.e. He is currently encountering swallowing difficulties (and we're praying he won't need a feeding tube but that's the suggestion so far) and his walking is very limited at the moment [a few meters at a time with the assistance of a walker and 2 nurses]. But the more overwhelming reality is that they need renovations done in their washroom for ease of access (i.e. a higher toilet, a walk-in shower rather than a worn down tub etc.) We are saving all that we can to fund this renovation and GOD is also watching over us as we're trying to put this project together through the assistance of the Church congregation to limit labour costs BUT we are still looking at footing quite an expensive bill so please any help and every share is appreciated.
Much Love!
Alyssia Dietrich

DECEMBER 6th 2020:
As many of you know Larry Dietrich is currently in the ICU on life support in a medically induced coma fighting for his life and battling Covid - 19. What started out as a common cold with minor symptoms, progressed into a life threatening illness in the span of a few days. On December 3rd at midnight, Larry was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital by ambulance due to the onset of a fever, shortness of breath and extreme fatigue. 10 minutes into this transport, his lungs began failing and he was intubated. Larry is currently on a ventilator while the staff try to work their magic in helping him through this. Larry is also hooked up to a feeding tube as well as dialysis as the hospital staff are doing what they can to keep his kidneys and lungs functioning.
Larry is the sole provider for his family as his wife has been laid off due to Coronavirus earlier this year. Alyssia is now the only one working (once she returns to work) and any financial support to relieve the burden from her will be appreciated as she will be helping out with groceries, mortgage, property taxes in addition to her bills at her own home.
No one should have to deal with this alone, especially during the holidays where family is so very important . His wife Janice and their two children Alyssia and Josh are completely beside themselves and praying for a miracle.
What better way to show your love, support and Christmas Spirit than to help out those who mean so much to us in their time of need.
Prayers, wishes and donations are very much appreciated by the family of four during this incredibly difficult time.
No donation is too small and every cent will help with finances and stresses during this time.
Please note that I have not been asked to do this in anyway, I just want to do what I can to help support the family. Alyssia will provide updates as they come, and she is aware that I have set this up on their behalf. She, along with Janice and Josh are very humbled that we’re all banning together to help.
From their family and mine, a very huge thank you goes out to you all for supporting The Dietrichs while they face uncertain times.
With Love to you All - Thank You isn’t enough!
