Support for Lanre's Grieving Family

On March 30th, our beloved Lanre was tragically taken from us in an act of senseless violence. He was shot and killed while volunteering at a weekend shift at a gas station; a job he only kept to support a friend. He had just started a new role as a high school teacher and was full of hope for a better future.

Lanre was a kind, humble, and hardworking man, a devoted husband to Busola and a loving father to four beautiful children: Hepzibah, Elroy, and his twin boys, Nissi and Noah. Just one week before this tragedy, the family moved into a new home; one Lanre was so proud to provide. He had only slept there for a week.

Lanre moved to the U.S. from Nigeria three years ago, determined to give his children a better life. He worked tirelessly, always putting his family first, and never hesitated to lend a hand to others. His loss has left a huge hole in our hearts and an unimaginable burden on his wife, who is now a single mother navigating this new, painful reality.

We’re raising funds to cover Lanre's funeral expenses and to help support Busola and the children in the coming months. Any amount you give will make a difference. If there are funds left after funeral arrangements, they will go directly toward covering the mortgage and car payments so his family can remain in their home.
