My name is Lani, and I’m reaching out for support for myself and my daughter as we navigate a very challenging time. On November 15th, I underwent a scheduled hysterectomy due to ongoing health issues. After six weeks of recovery, I was cleared to return to work, but just one weekend back, I faced a rare and serious complication that sent me to the emergency room for emergency surgery. This unexpected setback means I’ll be out of work until at least February 16th, and it’s been incredibly difficult to keep up with everyday expenses.

In the months leading up to my surgery, my daughter (age 17) and I were traveling regularly to Rochester for medical appointments to address her own health struggles. While short-term disability helped cover some costs during my initial recovery, I now have no paid time off left and no other sources of income. My family has been wonderfully supportive, but I know it’s a lot to ask, and I hate to put more stress on them.
