On Saturday, May 30th, 2026, Landon Samons was struck by a DUI driver while he was weed eating a lawn. Landon was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital and is in critical condition. His parents, Heather (Watkins) and Chad Samons, have not left the hospital since Landon arrived. At present, Heather is without sick days at work, and both she and Chad are missing work, so any donations are appreciated to help with expenses.
As you may know, Landon was set to graduate from Floyd Central High School on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Landon was accepted into the nursing program at UPike this fall semester and was excited about this new journey in life. If you didn’t see Landon playing football for the Jaguars, you may have seen him working at Food City in Prestonsburg. Please donate to help Landon and his family get through this tragic time. Any support is deeply appreciated.
Update: Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Landon continues to be in critical condition. Last night Landon suffered a stroke and began experiencing a high body temperature. His vitals were not stable, but he continues to fight. Please continue to pray for Landon and his family.
