Support for Lamine Soumah's Children

Lamine Soumah sadly passed away on March 30, 2020 from Covid 19. He leaves behind a large loving family and many friends from all over the world. Lamine was living with three of his seven children when he died. Many of you know and love Guy Soumah (21), M’mah Soumah (19), and Mohamed Soumah (17). All three are currently quarantined and unable to work right now. The funds from this Gofundme will go to pay for their rent and other living expenses for the next few months so that they can grieve without added stress as they figure out their way forward without their beloved father. Although these three young adults are reluctant to accept financial help, the community is calling for a way to show our love and support.

Lamine was born in 1970 in Guinea, West Africa. He lived many years in Senegal and came to the United States in 2001 as a drummer and dancer with the acclaimed Ballet Bougarabou. For many years, Lamine has been an integral part of the Hudson Valley drum and dance community. His doun doun playing graced many stages and fired up many rooms full of dancers. It is hard to comprehend how such a strong and powerful man can be gone so soon.

Lamine worked extremely hard to support his family, working long hours. His son, Guy, is a hard worker too. He put himself at risk working the important job of security guard at Kingston, Hospital. Please contribute to show this family how much we love them and care about them.
