In Loving Memory of Lakita
It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating news of our beloved dog, Lakita's, passing. Lakita was more than just a pet to our family—she was a source of endless love, comfort, and joy.
Lakita’s journey took an unexpected and painful turn when she needed emergency surgery on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. After her surgery, she seemed to bounce back so quickly, showing all the energy and spirit we knew and loved. But on Tuesday, November 18, just a week later, we woke up to hear her howling in pain. She could no longer stand or move her back end. In a panic, we rushed her to the vet, where they tried everything they could, but this morning, we received the heart-wrenching news that she had passed away.
Lakita's loss has left an unfillable hole in our hearts. She was not just a dog—she was a family member, a comforter, a protector, and a true friend. She had a special bond with her mom, Sheri, and brought so much light and laughter into our home. She had an endless supply of love, always ready to shower affection on anyone who needed it. She was especially gentle and loving with my mom’s great-granddaughters, always there with a wagging tail and an open heart. Lakita had this remarkable ability to sense when someone was sad, and would be right there, nuzzling and comforting us, letting us know we weren’t alone.
Her spirit will never be replaced. She was one-of-a-kind—loyal, loving, and full of life. The house feels empty without her, but we take comfort in knowing she is now free of pain. We will cherish the years we had with her, and hold her memory close forever. Rest in peace, Lakita. You will be deeply missed, but you will always have a special place in our hearts.
We are reaching out to our friends, family, and anyone who loved Lakita to help us cover the large veterinary bills from her emergency surgery, her stay, and now the costs of saying our final goodbye. Any support, whether financial or in the form of a kind word or prayer, is greatly appreciated during this incredibly difficult time.
We will miss you, Lakita, more than words can say. You were truly a great girl, and we will always remember the happiness you brought into our lives
