Our 3 1/2-year-old son, Kyson, woke up swollen and struggling to breathe on March 8, 2026. We rushed him to the ER, where he was diagnosed with strep throat and sent home. The next day, his symptoms returned even worse, so we brought him back to the ER. After an x-ray and CT scan, we received the devastating news that Kyson had cancerous tumors in both his kidneys. That same evening, we were flown to a Children's Hospital in Missouri, four hours away from home, for more answers. He has been hospitalized ever since and was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma cancer, starting chemotherapy just three days later.
This journey has turned our world upside down. We now have to travel four hours each way for his chemotherapy appointments. The costs of travel, food, and missed work for both Dad and Grandpa are adding up quickly. While we focus on Kyson's treatment, Grandma and Grandpa are caring for his twin Sister and 2 older siblings at home, making sure they are fed and supported during this difficult time. Every bit of help means the world to us as we navigate this challenging road ahead.
Thank you for reading our story. If you can't donate, please share and keep Kyson in your thoughts and prayers. Your support, in any form, brings us hope and strength as we fight for his recovery.
