Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am organizing this GoFundMe for my son, Kyle Bryant. His health journey started about a year ago when he began experiencing severe stomach issues and could not eat much of anything without a lot of discomfort. As a result, he started to lose weight and his quality of life was greatly affected. In May of 2025, Kyle was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and began medical treatment, but he has continued to struggle with eating and ongoing discomfort.
In August of 2025, Kyle began having extreme pain in his hands and legs. Despite continuing to see his primary doctor, it took a long time to get specialist appointments. By early October, he was put on light duty at work, but his condition worsened. In November, he was referred to a neurologist after he started to fall due to his legs giving out and continued to be in extreme pain. From September to December 23rd, Kyle lost 50 pounds. The neurologist diagnosed him with Nutritional Neuropathy—nerve damage caused by malnutrition from the ulcerative colitis.
But there is more going on than that. Kyle's white blood cell counts are very high, and he has given over 130 vials of blood since September. He now weighs just 125 pounds at 5'10". He has had multiple MRIs, one of which revealed a blood clot in his brain. He recently underwent electrode therapy with his neurologist. His upcoming appointments include a CT scan, echocardiogram, rheumatoid arthritis specialist, EKG, nutritionist, and now a respiratory specialist. A blood and cancer specialist is also involved and has ordered additional tests. Kyle can barely walk and now uses a cane or walker. He can't use his hands—he can't open anything, text, write, operate the TV remote, and struggles to hold a fork or spoon. Our dad is now spending nights with him, and both parents are there every day to help.
Kyle hasn't been able to work at all since December 23. He is out of all leave at work and is currently on FMLA. No work and no leave means no pay. He is supposed to be admitted into Kaiser hospital early next week. This GoFundMe will help relieve some of the financial hardship off of him. He does have medical insurance, but there is a cost to every visit and every test, balances on all procedures and of course, he still has his regular monthly bills.
Please consider contributing if you are able. We understand if you can't donate monetarily, but please share as much as possible so others can see it. Please keep him in your prayers. I will post updates as more test results come in. Thank you again for your support.
