On July 4, 2026, what should have been a joyful celebration of our 16th wedding anniversary became the most frightening day of our lives. My husband, Kurt, suffered a stroke, and our world changed in an instant.
We were married on July 4, 2010, and every year we've celebrated that day together. This year, instead of celebrating our love and the life we've built, we were facing the uncertainty of his health. While this has been an incredibly difficult journey, I know how blessed we are that Kurt is still here with us. So many families lose their loved ones to strokes, and I am grateful every single day that he has the opportunity to recover.
Kurt is an owner-operator truck driver and the sole provider for our family. He has always worked tirelessly to make sure we had everything we needed. Right now, he is home, focusing on healing and recovery, but because of his stroke he is unable to work. Without his income, we are struggling to keep up with our everyday expenses.
We have five children, and while four are grown & on their own we are still raising our youngest son, who is 16 years old and autistic. Like any parent, our priority is making sure he has the stability and support he needs during this difficult time.
We are asking for help with our household expenses while Kurt recovers. Your donations will help us pay our mortgage or rent, utilities, groceries, insurance, medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, transportation to appointments, and other essential bills. Every dollar will help relieve some of the financial stress so Kurt can focus on healing instead of worrying about how we will make ends meet.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. Sharing our fundraiser with your family, friends, and community would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, your kindness, and your support. Your generosity will help our family through one of the most challenging times we have ever faced. We are holding on to hope, celebrating every step forward in Kurt's recovery, and trusting that with the support of our community, we will get through this together.
